WHERE IS CROW'S NEST?

The Crow's Nest peninsula is situated in eastern Stafford County, Virginia, between Accokeek and Potomac Creeks, just as they feed into the Potomac River.  Crow's Nest is just a few miles northeast of Fredericksburg, Virginia and sits just across the Potomac from Maryland.  It is also just a few miles east of I-95.

The Crow’s Nest peninsula is divided into (see map below):

1. Lots 48-1 (2,743 acres, in two pieces) and 49-27 (802 acres), both owned by Stafford Lakes LP (also known as K&M Properties).

2. Area 49-D, is a subdivision known as “Crow’s Nest Harbor” (shaded in blue) which was planned and platted in the 1970s but never built.  Stafford Lakes LP owns 128 lots here—more than a third of the total in Crow’s Nest Harbor.

The Spring 2006 offer being made to Stafford Lakes by the Stafford Board of Supervisors includes only the properties listed in #1 above.  It does not include any of the property in “Crow’s Nest Harbor.”  Saving the entire peninsula requires that Crow's Nest Harbor be included in any preservation solution.
